Friends of Roughlee's appearance (FORa)

Alistair McGeorge with the Best Kept Cup, together with PC Chairman James Starkie, Mayor of Pendle George Adams and Shirley & Danny Belshaw with their ‘Best Kept’ award for the Caravan Parks.
The name given to a group of residents who regularly tend to Village
areas not necessarily connected to their homes.
Work done can be formally under the auspices of Alastair McGeorge or
informally by just tending to a small area anywhere in the Village. Even
picking litter constitutes being a ‘Friend’.
The whole purpose is to encourage residents to take an active part and
pride in the upkeep of the Village.
It is widely accepted that the creation of FORa led to the Village being
nominated ‘Best Kept Small Village in Lancashire in 2006 and 2007'.
New projects & initiatives are welcomed and a small amount of funds is
available for helping with planting etc. Contact Alistair on 695009.
