Roughlee Parish Gathering 2021

Roughlee Parish Gathering 2021

This is a meeting required by law when every resident of the Parish is able to attend to hear what the Parish Council have been doing, to ask questions and to hold the Council to account. For the past few years we have incorporated this formal meeting into the Parish Gathering which includes presentations on matters of local interest followed by a short drinks reception. This year the Parish Gathering will be held in the Village Centre at 7pm on Monday 27th September 2021.

Amongst the items of interest will be a presentation by the local Bythell family who are very successful hockey players and have strong hockey links both locally and nationally. The success of ladies hockey at the last two Olympics will form part of their talk. Other presentations will include an update by the Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership and a talk by Simon Cronshaw on Creative Pendle.

Whilst Covid restrictions have been eased the Parish Gathering will respect the need to maintain safety measure. The Centre will be fully cleaned beforehand and social distancing will be maintained as far as possible. Wearing masks is also encouraged. It is intended that the drinks reception will be held at the end of the Gathering but the usual nibbles will not be available due the Covid restrictions.
